The New Frontier of Healing: Navigating Natural Medicine in Colorado

Colorado has long been a pioneer in wellness and personal liberty, and we are currently witnessing one of the most significant shifts in mental health history: the emergence of regulated Natural Medicine.

With the passage of the Natural Medicine Health Act, our state has moved beyond mere decriminalization into a structured, safe, and ethical framework for healing with plant medicines like psilocybin. But as this new world opens up, many are asking: How does it actually work? And what is an “NMCF”?

Understanding the NMCF: Your Guide on the Journey

A Natural Medicine Colorado Facilitator (NMCF) is a professional licensed by the State of Colorado to provide a “container” for these profound experiences. This isn’t just about the medicine; it’s about the Facilitator.

To earn this certification, facilitators undergo rigorous, state-approved training that includes over 150 hours of didactic study, supervised practicums, and ethics modules. An NMCF is trained to guide you through three critical phases:

  1. Preparation: Setting intentions and ensuring safety.
  2. Administration: Holding a compassionate, grounded space during the experience.
  3. Integration: Helping you weave the insights from your journey back into your daily life.

The Power of Choice: Individual vs. Group Offerings

Healing is rarely “one size fits all.” Depending on where you are in your journey, you may find resonance in different formats:

  • Individual Facilitation: This is a deeply personalized, one-on-one container. It allows for a specific focus on your personal history, traumas, or goals. It is ideal for those seeking privacy and a highly tailored environment where the facilitator’s presence is entirely dedicated to your unique process.
  • Group Offerings: There is an ancient, undeniable power in communitas. Journeying alongside others can break the isolation often felt in modern life. In a group setting, the collective energy often mirrors and amplifies the healing process, reminding us that our struggles and triumphs are part of a shared human experience.

Taking the Next Step

I (Jim) am honored to share that I have received my Natural Medicine Colorado Facilitator certification. This work is close to my heart, and I am committed to providing safe, ethical, and transformative experiences for those ready to explore this path.

I am currently offering both individual sessions and group circles in partnership with ETC Healing Center in Golden—a beautiful sanctuary dedicated to presence and transformation.

Upcoming Opportunity: I am particularly excited to be hosting a Men’s Medicine Circle on April 24th. This is a day-long group experience specifically designed for men to come together, drop the armor, and explore their healing intentions within a supportive brotherhood.

Whether you are seeking clarity, healing from the past, or a deeper connection to yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out today to discuss how we might work together.
