Hi, I’m Suzanne.  If you are seeking help for an adolescent, for couples therapy or just for yourself, you are in the right place.

I am originally from Illinois, but I have since lived in Arizona, Germany, California and finally Colorado as of 2007. My undergraduate degree in Business Administration is from the University of Arizona and I completed my Masters of Counseling at Regis University. I have been married for 19 years and I have two children (ages 15 and 11), who couldn’t be more different from each other! I love snowboarding, traveling, camping, hiking, paddleboarding and game nights with family and friends. Personal and professional experiences have given me an intimate understanding of marital conflict, parenting challenges, first responder trauma, depression and anxiety, career changes, financial stress, and substance misuse. I am professional, but also very casual and easy-going. I have had many people tell me that it is easy to open up to me.

I believe the best therapy happens in two stages. The first stage is solution-focused with the intent of getting some relief from your pain, ASAP. This is done by addressing urgent concerns with practical solutions, developing effective communication skills and learning essential coping strategies. The goal of this stage is to subside the feeling of crisis.

The second stage involves going “deeper”. This stage comes after you are already equipped with coping skills that help you deal with the really painful stuff…the stuff that you try to bury, hide and ignore, such as painful memories and experiences.

Ultimately, when it comes to therapy, there is no “one size fits all”, so I tailor the process based on each individual’s or couple’s specific needs.  I love being a therapist and I would be honored to work with you.
